XTA Level Editor

Craft your own levels and challenges using our powerful, but easy-to-use game and level editor that allows for limitless gameplay experiences. Anyone can create and edit levels on pc or mobile, instantly play your creation and upload to the XTA website to share with other members of the XTA community.

Start by using one of the 8 distinct locations on the planet Naytonia as a template. Position weapons, items, vehicles, props, enemies, around the stageenemy to create unique gameplay experiences. Here are some of the features you can expect:

General Options

If you plan to use the Editor to create your own custom levels then you'll want to know the functions behind these buttons. These buttons are for manipulating the level environment.

Edit
The Level Editor button, allows you manipulate the currently loaded Level.

Wireframe
Switches the land object to wireframe mode, making it see-through.

Fill
Switches the land object to fill mode, displaying its texture.

Camera
Switch to Camera mode to control the camera with mouse or via screen point.

Point
Manipulate the height at specific points on the land object.

Paint
Paint individual segments of the land object with a selected texture.

Grid
Modify the segment size and overall dimensions of the land object.

Skybox
Modify skybox texture, position and environmental fog effect.

Normalize
Recalculates the normals of the land object (makes it look pretty).

Heightmap
Recalculates the height of the land object according to a selected heightmap image.

Lightmap
Renders a lightmap image for the land object taking into account all scene assets.

Water
Modify the position and functional properties of the water plain.

Music
Select one of the Music Tracks composed by Eric Matyas for your Level

Exit
Exit the Level Editor and return back to the Main Menu.

Delete
Permanently Delete the selected level from game memory.

Load
Load the selected Level into the Level Editor. Ignores previously loaded level.

Play
Immediately start playing the currently loaded Level.

Save
Saves the currently loaded Level either as a new file with the specified filename or to an existing selected file.

New
Creates a new blank Level and ignores the previously loaded Level.

Asset Options

These buttons are for creating and manipulating the level assets.

Asset
Toggles the asset category buttons on and off, allowing you select what asset category to load.

Prop
Reveals the Props menu allowing you select one of the many Props available to insert in the Level.

Weapon
Reveals the Weapons menu allowing you select one of the many Weapons available to insert in the Level.

Vehicle
Reveals the Vehicle menu allowing you select one of the many Vehicles available to insert in the Level.

Item
Reveals the Item menu allowing you select one of the many Items available to insert in the Level.

Enemy
Reveals the Enemy menu allowing you select one of the many Enemies available to insert in the Level.

AI Guard
Instructs the selected enemy character to guard their current position.

AI Patrol
Instructs the selected enemy character to patrol a defined route in the level.

AI Hunt
Instructs the selected enemy character to hunt down the protagonist character any chance they get.

Clone Asset
Creates an indentical duplicate of the currently selected asset.

Delete Asset
Deletes the selected asset from the current Level.

Increment Y-Axis Angle
Rotates the selected asset on its y-axis in the clockwise direction.

Decrement Y-Axis Angle
Rotates the selected asset on its y-axis in the anticlockwise direction.
